This is "poetic medicine" (John Fox)--yes, T., creative alchemy. What comes to your mind when you read these lines and the answers you are reading here? Be original, ok. Be specific, if you dare. Don't be afraid to step outside the box, but please resist the temptation to be snarky or trolling. This is serious healing for me, tapping into my creativity and the creativity of the Universe as I move through and continue to release the effects of some childhood trauma that recently resurfaced.

I will compile a mosaic of the best responses and perform the poem at upcoming poetry readings. I may post it on my myspace. We shall see.

Here are the beginning lines:

Rising up from the ashes
I am the phoenix

Singed wings unbroken
I am the eagle
Soaring

Please pass this question on by starring it, if the spirit of the poem moves you or you know another Y/A user who is in need of poetic medicine. Thank you. Peace to you.

From the darkness of despair

To the vision of hope

I have seen the moon

And have touched the sky

Each day is rebirth in my heart

Each hour is essential in my life

Each minute is what I live for

Everyone I love is with me always

Each friend I find is worth my care

The Phoenix rises from the ashes

Every Time I blink

I look forward for today

Because tomorrow is today tomorrow

What a wonderful life I have led

What a wonderful life I will have

childhood beneath me

broken promises, broken dreams

new life ahead, many new things

sadness below me, despair behind

the future ahead, but I'm not flying blind

I have a plan,somewhat, atleast

rising up from the ashes

I am the phoenix

to a destination unknown

but to be sure it's out of my comfort zone

I hope I have the strength to carry on

to let go of the past and look to the future beyond
