In her heart,
She held tight,
Sunlight in her art,
Yesterday,
Long lost yesterday,
Always yesterday,
Not knowing what to say.
Steepled fingers,
Brought to pray,
One for life,
One for love,
One for day,
Two for yesterday,
She wished for yesterday.
Hiding away in her room,
Her secret room,
The child smiled inside,
Waiting for her bloom.
But no one comes alive,
Visits anymore,
No one makes her melt,
Anymore,
She builds churches,
With her hands,
Wisting for the kisses,
Wishes she never held,
Once upon a time,
Yesterday.
Always yesterday.
She unlaces traces,
For today,
And prays,
Not for yesterday,
Not for unsure strays,
Not for lingering ways,
For Yesterday in Today.
