Question:
Are you at peace with your silence?
?

I thought I heard
the whisper of a door
That tell-tale sign
that meant my love was home
I listened for the
footsteps I adore
And sadly whispered
.....no
when there were none
The journey on my own
..has thus begun

Silence... then
will be my soul's
companion
Within it's echoes
...let me find some peace
As Autumn fields are dead
and lay abandoned
My hope of silence broken
...will then cease

Let nothing... then
disturb this sweet release

Silent silence beckons all

while echoes fade away

There is a time to be alone, it seems to refresh and renew. I read that in your words.

I was away once in silence

a year of silence

now I just can't hear it

tip of silence:

Silent the clocks,

for all you will hear

is time passing,

tick tock

it gets so

you can't wear a watch or

look to see if it is time to eat

or time to go home or meet,

and forever more,

you will always be late like me

silence killed time for me

as the ticks and tocks

got louder and louder

I hope this helps you

It helped me

only for a moment

I never hope for silence. It is a scary sound.

There's much more peace to be found in even white noise. The softest breeze through the window; a dog barking 7 blocks away; music; the hum of a small fan ... and on and on.

Sometimes when i can feel him with me, my lover that is. I very much appreciate this poem i wrote something similar about 7 months ago but i havent read it since and i was in a completely different state of mind. Maybe I should pull it back out and take a look.

*whisper* Shhh... I do not want to disturb you, but you did ask a question, yes? I would appreciate silence, if only... not much of it here. It's a great time to listen for those words that make us all say, "Ahh... Nice job, Sin!". Now, get back to your friend, and enjoy each other's company! ; )

SIN you are such a talent. I am always awed by your words. You have the ability to voice so many feelings and situations in such a lovely manner. I read the answers posted here and see how this can be interpreted in different ways. I also like that you take the time to read the work of others and are always kind in your remarks. God has blessed you with a gift and you use it wisely. Thanks for sharing.

This is a powerful poem, and it hits me hard. Having been caregiver for my mom for 5 years, and then to lose her, I find that I want to tell her something, but the house is empty save for me.

It takes time to make peace with the silence.

Publish this. This should be in every bereavement book, magazine, zine, etc. around. It is phenomenal. t

My silence has a voice

it is laughter in the night

as the clouds meander

neath my lovers brilliance

dilettante beast in the wilderness

soft belly, soft feet, dull teeth

accompanied only

by the sudden realization of this truth

and an acute awareness

of how full of noise the silence.

Interesting poem.

Are you at peace with your silence?

Very much so, seriously.

And it feels nice to not have people drag me into their drama.

It was not my choice to become silent it was more a series of unfortunate events.

Yes, I sure am!

It's when I can't keep my mouth

shut that I get into trouble...
