World Poetry Movement is a notorious vanity publishing scam. Virtually everybody who enters their bogus contest gets that same flattering "semi-finalist" letter, and gets invited to buy that worthless "Stars in Our Hearts" book, which has no credibility in the legitimate publishing world. Basically, you send them your poem and they try to make a fortune by selling it back to you in a ridiculously overpriced book full of nothing but poems by "semi-finalists" who fell for the scam.

If you love writing and want to look for legitimate poetry publishing opportunities, do some research on poetry magazines. There's plenty of information in the book "Poet's Market" (your local library might have a copy) and at this site:

If you haven't published any of your poems in good journals yet, it might be too early for you to start entering real poetry contests, but you can find some legitimate ones in the magazine "Poets & Writers" and at this site:

The World Poetry Movement is the real thing inasmuch as it is a genuine moneymaking scheme that charges people top prices to publish their poems. Barnes and Noble are cool with that, since they get a kickback.

If you want to give them your money, that's your choice.

If you decide to have your poem published by WPM you must NEVER tell anyone about it.

Serious poetry publishers will know that you have no talent (people with talent don't bother with WPM); colleges, and even some churches, will automatically assume that you are dumb (how dumb do you need to be to fall for a scam this obvious)?

But some people genuinely are dumb and lack any kind of talent at all.

For those people, WPM is just what they need.

the international Poetry stream is the rather aspect inasmuch as it is a easily useful scheme that expenditures persons acceptable expenses to placed up their poems. Barnes and Noble are cool with that, thinking the very undeniable truth that they get a kickback. in case you opt for to provide them you funds, it really is your decision. if you're making a decision to have your poem launched by way of WPM you should favor to by no ability tell all and sundry about it. extreme poetry publishers will realize that you do not have any skills (persons with skills do not problem with WPM); faculties, or maybe some churches, will mechanically anticipate that you're dumb (how dumb do you have to be to fall for a scam this seen)? yet some persons purely about are dumb and shortage any type of skills in any respect. For those persons, WPM is purely what they prefer.

it's real in that there is a book and if you pay to buy it your poem will be included in it. But apparently everyone who sends in a poem is a semi-finalist. Honestly, try sending in the worst poem ever written under a fake name and see if you get the same letter that you are a semi finalist
