Cheer-up!

“Cheer-up! Cheer-up!” chirps my sparrow,
And hops onto my window sill;
She takes the path, straight and narrow,
And peers at me through iron grill.

She nods her head in understanding,
Dark almond alight with care; g
All my woes that are demanding
to fold her wings in fervent prayer.

A scattering of crumbly cakes,
A cup of ginger tea for me;
My kitchen glows and awakes,
in our cheerful company.

“Cheer-up! Cheer-up!", she chirps goodbye,
And reaches for the calling sky.

You have a way of making ever morning seem big and wonderful

with your lovely poetry .

I mean this in a very nice way OK, ''I picture you like 'Snow white ''

with all the little birds singing around you..Your mornings in green files

in the sun and lovely flowers and earth is mystical dream.

delightful I like your Poetry a lot :)

a lady tried and true walking the straight and narrow

wants a critique of her poem about a sparrow

i believe it is a tale told by a windowsill

about a bird that does cheerfully bring

sweet happiness on her golden wing

how lovely to hear her sing

it brings such a thrill

how could i say that this poem is bad or unfair

its theme is pleasant and true

how a tiny sparrow can alight and banish all care

from me and you, only the Great GOD

to who it belongs can create such

a magnificent poem and way with words

and the trill of the sparrow that i just heard thank you for your poem it made me think of

Can my sparrow play too?

He loves perching inside your sill and munching cake from your grill.

Chirping, "cheer-up," the busy little bird is making its rounds. Cute...

I really enjoy the onomatopoeia that you use. Your writing is very visual. Thank you for sharing it.
