No, I can totally see the shark. The fact that the I in the first line and I in the second line are leading back to fins that you cannot see is elusive and quite clever. I love this, thank you. Excpet maybe the surfer dudes on a platter with red gravy line...verrrrrry visual, in a visceral way.

Interesting.... I guess I've seen both sides and never quite thought of it like this... The simile amidst broad generalizations is quite interesting... Well, one must admit that many don't fall in the category of ant or grasshopper. Many work all summer and harvest little, don't learn the basic rules of storing up. Many play all summer and live on the wealth of they families or happen at summers end to be at the right place at the right time to reap the picnic left overs. And many more work, play and just make it by through the summer and winter... I think I agree with the writer in that I don't think what's mine should be taken and given to others. Yet I do also feel that those who have much should to some extent internally seek to give to others. Regarding the comment on welfare, stated above, I definitely feel that its broken. It should be limited term with required milestones (ie completion of job training, trade, or degree programs, birth control, etc?). But I wont pretend to act like voting for one side or the other, one candidate or another will change the field to an ideal situation...
