Question:
Why are two stanzas of Puff the Magic Dragon so sad? And any relationship to a recent poem of mine?

So here are the lyrics to Puff the Magic Dragon
– composed by Lenny Lipton (a nice Jewish boy & Physicist!!) when he was 19;
If you have seen a 3-D movie recently – most likely projector used was made by the company he founded.

QUESTION: Are the stanzas between the stars **** below**** sad or not? Why?

QUESTION: Is there a relationship to recent poem I wrote (BTW most likely last time Rubin behaved that way)? :

Puff, the magic dragon lived by the sea
And frolicked in the autumn mist in a land called Honah Lee,
Little Jackie paper loved that rascal puff,
And brought him strings and sealing wax and other fancy stuff. oh

Puff, the magic dragon lived by the sea
And frolicked in the autumn mist in a land called Honah Lee,
Puff, the magic dragon lived by the sea
And frolicked in the autumn mist in a land called Honah Lee.

Together they would travel on a boat with billowed sail
Jackie kept a lookout perched on puffs gigantic tail,
Noble kings and princes would bow whenever they came,
Pirate ships would lower their flag when puff roared out his name. oh!

Puff, the magic dragon lived by the sea
And frolicked in the autumn mist in a land called Honah Lee,
Puff, the magic dragon lived by the sea
And frolicked in the autumn mist in a land called Honah Lee.

*************** (Two stanzas subject of question)

A dragon lives forever but not so little boys
Painted wings and giant rings make way for other toys.
One grey night it happened, Jackie paper came no more
And puff that mighty dragon, he ceased his fearless roar.

His head was bent in sorrow, green scales fell like rain,
Puff no longer went to play along the cherry lane.
Without his life-long friend, puff could not be brave,
So puff that mighty dragon sadly slipped into his cave. oh!
*****************************

Puff, the magic dragon lived by the sea
And frolicked in the autumn mist in a land called Honah Lee,
Puff, the magic dragon lived by the sea
And frolicked in the autumn mist in a land called Honah Lee.

"She finally knew, with no real surprise

those toys with sewn on button eyes

and become more of what she was of herself.

Yowee Soc this is so hard.

The Fearless Roar even sounded sad because the song is so sad the way he sings it, with a sad voice. Oh wow, Puff the Magic oh dragon oh why why oh, lived oh he lived oh no and now what oh, oh he lived by the sea oh he was so alone oh no, the song starts out sad and ends with the boy came no more oh wow, this is so sad his only friend wow gone! so he slipped into his cave will never come out of the cave again oh wow. sad.

You caught me solid on that one. Never failed to start the tears. Did it again.

the words "ceased his fearless roar", "bent in sorrow", and "sadly" are clues.
