It's when you take each other as you are without forcing them to change.
it's gentle, forgiving, slow to anger, every minute you think and miss the other person.
You make a promise to stay together forever. Then you keep the promise.
Never try manipulating the other in words or actions.Ignoring someone is considered controlling.
Never blame the other person to cover up your lack of self worth or faults.
As far as I'm concerned the only true love comes from God.
And that is all I need to be happy and free.
Goodnight

Beyond the fact that it is pretty much an irrational emotion, confusing often, nearly impossible to define in a generalized way, it is all things and nothing to many as it might be interpreted. Beyond that I agree that it is not only subjective and very individual, it may also be an imbalance in how two feel and express.
The question, and I say this with no offense meant to you, is like asking, "What is our purpose?"
What usually happens is there are always more questions than answers.

Admonition by Sylvia Plath
If you dissect a bird
To diagram the tongue
You'll cut the chord
Articulating song.
If you flay a beast
To marvel at the mane
You'll wreck the rest
From which the fur began.
If you pluck out the heart
To find what makes it move,
You'll halt the clock
That syncopates our love.

Love-
Is when you feel like your chest is being filled with something just when you're around someone.
Or when you think about someone all night and just can't wait too see them the next day.
And when you feel like you can tell someone anything and they won't tell.
And finally when you know that if you sneeze or pass gas that they won't laugh at you.

Love is putting the loved ones needs before your own. When two people do this with each other it is amazingly rewarding.
