This is simply me saying good morning poetically... and not an effort to write the perfect poem.

An Autumn Day Good Morning

Good morning, good morning,
wake up America, wake up world,
the sun is breaking into daylight,
don't miss this while sleeping, curled.

Open the windows, open the shades,
open the blinds, open yourself to the day;
make that coffee down a cup or two,
walk out on the porch feel the rays.

The birds are singing out of tune,
in perfect pitch above morning dew,
the temperature a perfect seventy-two,
I stretch my body and feel renewed.

Enjoy this autumn day while you can,
before winter spreads across the land,
Catch the sun while days are still warm,
enjoy life to the fullest, take my hand...

... and walk with me until winters snow is all that's left.

I’ve uncurled my body and climbed from my bed

Opened the curtains and cleared my head

I don’t drink coffee but I have my tea

And the swing on the deck is beckoning me

There’s sounds drifting toward me

From traffic and trains

It smells like it does after a rain

And the noise of the birds

Permeates my brain..

First Day of October, the old month gone

I wish that the summer and fall would stay on

But winter is coming and I must prepare

And if you’d come over I would share

My swing with you...
it's me

I've been up a long time and am out of coffee!!!!! But, good morning anyway. And up here, the birds are in flight to your neck of the woods

Enjoy this autumn day while you can,

before winter spreads across the land,

Catch the sun while days are still warm,

enjoy life to the fullest, take my hand...

I'll try.

Thank you for greeting the morning. A nice way to wake up. Unforunately up north here there is no Autumn or Indian Summer. We suddenly wake up after a summer day only have 50 or 60 degree weather. This beautiful morning is 45 degrees. Must be the climate change and what we are doing to our earth. I miss the mornings of autumn and thank you for the reminder. Good Morning to you to!

Autumn is a transitional season, usually very pleasant in its early stages before winter replaces it.

I love Autumn, and I guess I have about as long as I can remember. I didn't much like raking leaves, and still don't, but I love the way they smell, and when I was a child I used to enjoy diving into a pile of leaves and burrowing through it. Sometimes my sister and I would play together in a big pile of leaves.

We could even tolerate the occasional gloomy day, knowing another day would see us with bright sunlight and the crispness only a fall day can possess.

I like your poem. It reminds me of all these things.

Well done with the Autumn morning...a good piece this is, reflecting the images of a seasonal dawn. With verses like this, the morning is doubly sweet.

Good Morning and enjoy the day.
